Marion is a city in Guadalupe County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,066 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area.HistoryThe town is named in for Marion Dove, whose grandfather, Joshua W. Young, owned a plantation that the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway passed through in 1877.GeographyMarion is located in western Guadalupe County at .
