The Hagerstown Barrack is responsible for the jurisdictional boundaries of Washington County, Maryland. Washington County has 150 thousand residents and covers 458 square miles. There are 3 interstate highways within the counties boundaries. I-70, I-81 and I-68. Troopers assigned to the Hagerstown Barrack have the responsibility to patrol all interstates and state roadways. The new barrack was constructed in 2010 and houses the Maryland State Police, Western Maryland Crime Lab, and State Fire Marshall.
