Established in 2002, Marywood University's String Project is an after-school, pre-collegiate string program. Students take small-group lessons in violin, viola, cello and double bass, participate in ensemble rehearsals, and perform in concerts. String Project participants are divided into three levels based on student playing experience. The String Project also serves as a teaching and pedagogical lab experience for University string majors and music education majors who, under the supervision of Marywood string music faculty members, serve as student assistants in the program.
