More about Mastador Puppies

Puppies are People too. We love Mastadors and of course, love Puppies. Our dogs live in the house with us, are never kenneled, & have 80 acres and several ponds to explore. Our puppies are raised in the house with daily care and interaction. They are socialized to such things as people, kids, other dogs, kennel, sweeping, noise of vacuum cleaners, blender, fans, doors slamming, bug zapper (sounds like gun shots or firecrackers) Once they are big enough they learn how to use the doggie door, are well on their way to potty training, and have regular playtime outside. Weather permitting they will have water/puppy pool playtime. Mastadors are the best of both worlds between the Mastiff and the Labrador. They are great with children and make wonderful family dogs. Known for being happy, affectionate, intuitive, gentle, loving, loyal, protective, social and smart. Bringing the friendly cheerfulness of the lab together with the more mellow laid back nature of Mastiff. Mastadors are more athletic than Mastiffs but not as high energy as the lab making them the perfect dog for many families.

Mastadors are larger than most labs and smaller than most Mastiffs. Affectionate and gentle. They are easy to train using reward based positive training. Mastadors tend to be sensitive and intuitive. If their people are ill or sad they will be by their side (or on their laps). They may become distressed over raised voices or arguments. Mastadors can be very protective but are not aggressive unless they feel a real and immediate threat to them or you. Mastadors are great family dogs. They are friendly and social and love to do whatever it is that their people are doing. Whether that be activities or napping. Because they are very social dogs, they can become destructive if left alone for too long without the company of their family or another dog.

Our puppies are 2nd and 3rd generation Mastadors, raised under the best of care, and are bred specifically for ideal traits. Many of our puppies have gone into service, therapy, guardian and companion work and are being recommended by professional trainers as the ideal dog for people with those needs. We don't ever want any of our dogs to end up in a bad situation or shelter so all potential adopters need to go through a specific application process, which includes determining if a Mastador is a good fit for them and if they are a good fit for one of our puppies, a non breed contract, emergency plan, and returning the dog to us if needed.
