Each Sunday morning over 200 men, women and children in need gather for an informal prayer service followed by a shared meal. Today, the food for the breakfast is purchased and prepared by a small number of committed families from the community. Our weekly menu is simple and
nutritious, including: eggs, potatoes, sausage, french toast, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, cold cereals, juice and coffee.
The meal doesn’t just feed the attendees. The meal serves to bring together those who give and those who receive, working side by side to prepare, serve, clear and clean in a relationship of mutual
respect. Often, people in need are not accustomed to feeling useful
or needed. This “ownership” serves to empower the attendees through their own contributions to one another. Together we are creating a community that embraces an ethic of caring.
