Mattress Depot

Jim Wiley, Owner of Mattress Depot has been in the industry for 21 years. At the age of 19 "Jim" decided he would follow the path lead by his parents. This decision led him to Peoria, Illinois where he started building and selling mattress sets for Verlo Mattress Factory Stores. Verlo is the largest factory direct store chain in the United States where they manufacture beds on site. His employer, Len Bertuli who held numerous awards in mechanical engineering before he had decided to open his own mattress factory retail store. Jim's job at Verlo was multi-faceted including the construction of mattress sets, sales, delivery and design of mattress sets. Jim Wiley worked there for almost seven years before he decided it was the right time to open his own store. He traveled to Norman, Ok to visit his sister and brother-in-law who were volleyball coaches at OU and decided to open a retail store in Edmond, Ok in 2001. Within the first three years his Edmond store was the second largest volume dealer in Oklahoma for Lady Americana. After eight years there he decided to move a little closer to his family and came to Joplin, Mo and opened this store in December of 2009. Jim has been involved with the design of mattress sets ever since he left Verlo for various manufacturers. Jim's motto is Sell the Best for Less.
