Steve Smith founder of Max Machine Inc. has worked in a manufacturing environment for over 40 years. In that time he has helped to start two job shops and has held various positions within many corporations. Some of the responsibilities included: Job Quoting, Purchasing, Maintenance, Supervision of the workflow, and Programming. Since the establishment of Max Machines he has specialized, mainly, in prototype engineering and R&D for biomedical and robotic firms. These include;

• The production, manufacture and assembly of multiple fixtures and automated units for the manufacture of blood component collection equipment for Haemonetics of Braintree MA, a world leader in the blood component industry.
• The development and manufacture of a blood filtration system using adsorptive or chromatographic technologies for Tantallon Engineering of Pembroke MA, a consulting engineering firm.
• The manufacture of custom titanium knee and hip systems for Johnson & Johnson in Raynham Ma.
• The production of prototype mechanical components for a roadable aircraft flying car for Terrafugia of Woburn MA.
• The production of mechanical components for Robotics for iRobot Corp of Bedford MA.
