Maya Horsey Equine Clinician & Consultant

Maya has an extensive and varied background with horses and is from England (UK), her main focus having been National Hunt racing, Point-to-Point racing and Foxhunting.

In 1998 she started her training with Monty Roberts in California in 2000 became one of the first six people to become a Certified Instructor.

Maya was based in Dorset, England where she ran her own business working with young horses for starting, remedial horses, racehorses and hunters.

In 2007 she moved to California and became the Head Instructor for the Monty Roberts International Learning Centre at Flag is Up Farms, where she was an integral part of the whole farm and educating hundreds of students from around the world in Monty’s methods. She also had her own horses and competed in Reining and Working Cow horse events.

In 2012 Maya was recognized as one of Monty’s six Master Instructors around the world and continued to teach students from all over and work with horses, while managing a great team of Instructors.

In 2014 after seven and a half years based at Monty's farm, Maya journeyed out into America with her horses, it started with 6 months at a large QH breeding operation in Montana where she was working with older horses and started about 30 younger horses preparing them for a career in competition and ranch life.

2015 brought Maya back to North East California where she is living on a large cattle ranch and working with many horses.
