MCE is California’s First Community Choice Aggregator (CCA).

It started as a "blue sky" idea.

Everyone’s always saying that something needs to be done about global warming—but what? Who’s going to do it? How can such an overwhelming subject be tackled without sacrificing the comfort and already overtaxed budgets of residents and businesses?

It started with one great, wishful, blue sky idea that was bigger than any individual could bring to life alone. The visionaries who birthed that great idea brought it to Marin County leadership, where it was discussed and examined, argued and challenged, and ultimately championed when its inherent value was certain. That idea became known as MCE.

In a nutshell, MCE procures renewable sources of electricity and partners with PG&E to provide our local communities with it. You get all the advantages of cleaner, greener, healthier energy consumption AND all of the advantages of the established, experienced energy provider you’ve come to rely on. No tricks, no smoke, no mirrors.

Where’s the catch? Is it going to cost you a bundle? There’s the sweet payoff. It’s not. You can get twice as much renewable energy at competitive rates. Or you can get 100% renewable energy for just a little more. That’s what we call a win-win situation…for us, our kids, our environment, and our future.
