McFarlan is a town in Anson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 117 at the 2010 census. The racial makeup of the town was 94.38% White and 5.62% African American.There were 38 households out of which 23.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 10.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.8% were non-families. 34.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 3.04.In the town, the population was spread out with 23.6% under the age of 18, 2.2% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 23.6% who were 65 years of age or older.
