The Library was built in 1953. Classes of Huntington High School at the time were searchingfor a memorial for Huntington boys who died in WWII. The school did not have a library, so they decided on that project. They did a variety of carnivals, bake sales, etc to raise money. Mr. C.S. McMullen supported their efforts and donated the land and constructed the building. The students funds were them used to furnish the library and buy books. For many years it was the only school library for the district, but now each campus has its own library.
