The McNeese State University Facebook page is an open forum intended for civil discussion. Users are free to express their views and opinions as long as the rules and standards of discourse are followed.

Any comments or content (including any link postings) that violate the rules and standards are subject to deletion.

Any individual who violates the rules and standards after being advised by the page administrator can be blocked from commenting and posting.

Any individual who is a repeat offender of the rules and standards can be blocked from commenting and posting.


Rules of discourse:

-Obscene and vulgar language is prohibited.
-Comments condoning or promoting violence are prohibited.
-Comments that contain negative or derogatory speech about a person or group’s race, ethnicity, religion and any other orientation will be removed.
-Name-calling is discouraged. Repeated name-calling by individuals is prohibited.
-Comments and content designed primarily to elicit an emotional response are prohibited.
-Overly-repetitive commenting within a single thread is prohibited.
-The intentional posting of inaccurate comments or content is not allowed.
-Comments made by individuals using inappropriate profile photos or user names will be deleted.
-Unauthorized solicitations and business advertisements are prohibited and will be removed by the administrator.

The job of the page administrator is to guide all discussions in order to achieve the quality of discourse expected by the university, and has final say on interpretation of the rules of discourse and what constitutes as a violation. All users posting comments or content must adhere the directives of the administrator.
