The genesis of McRae, Stegall, Peek, Harman, Smith and Manning, LLP, was a partnership for the general practice of law in Rome, Georgia, established in 1899 by George Edmondson Maddox and Colonel William S. McHenry. The firm has been in continuous existence since that time.
Over the years, lawyers affiliated with the firm have served in various capacities in the judicial, legislative and executive branches of both national and state governments. Partners in the firm have also served as members of the Georgia Board of Bar Examiners as well as in numerous other legal offices and civic positions.
