The Omaha Medication Therapy Management Clinic is pleased to offer a comprehensive Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Clinic to assist you and your employees with all of their medication and disease-state management needs. With this valuable service, our clinically trained Doctors of Pharmacy work with the prescribers to enhance your employees’ quality of care.

As part of this program, pharmacists will conduct a comprehensive medication and disease-state review of the employee’s prescriptions and nonprescription medications, including any vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and dietary supplements.

We provide patient counseling on any new and existing prescriptions or over-the-counter therapies. At no additional charge – we provide private counseling sessions on inhaler use, perform hypertension screenings, diabetic education, insulin injection and diabetes testing techniques, arrange private and group tobacco cessation classes, provide lipid testing, administer immunizations, and assist in a variety of other areas of counseling and education. We will also arrange follow-up monitoring visits as needed, check the employee’s progress with new medications, and assure that any drug therapy problems have been adequately resolved.

The MTM Clinic program is designed to help both the employee and their family and offers these benefits:

• Safer and more effective medication use. Educating your employees on the appropriate use of medication will improve their compliance, help them reach and maintain their therapeutic goals, and prevent medication errors. To ensure medication effectiveness, our pharmacists conduct follow-up telephone interviews to monitor your employee’s progress and compliance with the medication regimen. This increase in compliance directly correlates with an increase in employee productivity.

• Selection of the most therapeutic and cost-effective medications. If there is a medication that is more cost-effective than the employee’s current medication, our pharmacists will consult the employee and obtain their authorization to contact the physician before any medication change request is made. This can result in lower co-pays for the medications.

• Improved coordination of care. Many employees visit multiple providers for various health conditions. This can lead to duplicate therapies or harmful medication interactions. We provide your employees with a master
medication list. It contains information pertaining to all of their medications and a medication action plan that explains the safest and most effective use of their medications. Administration timing, drug-drug, drug-food interactions, and what to do if they miss a dose of medication are all reviewed with the employee.

• MTM Service documentation. Our pharmacists carefully document all MTM services provided to your employees. In addition, the physician is notified if an employee’s clinical situation requires their attention. Any changes made to a prescription medication will only be made with both the employee’s and physician’s authorization. All documentation will be kept on file the MTM Clinic and is available to the employee if requested. All medical, medication, and consulting records are stored securely and are HIPAA compliant.

• Onsite Health and Wellness Clinic Screenings
All the aforementioned services will be done on your worksite. We perform vaccinations, blood pressure screenings, diabetes screenings and testing, cholesterol checks, medication reviews, etc., on your worksite - with little or no disruption in your employees’ work schedule. We perform these scheduled Health and Wellness Clinic Screenings before work, during breaks, or after work. We will even schedule these across multiple shifts if needed -- whenever it is convenient for you and your employees.
