Medina Township is a civil township of Lenawee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,227 at the 2000 census.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 47.6sqmi, of which 47.6sqmi is land and 0.1sqmi (0.15%) is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 1,227 people, 451 households, and 357 families residing in the township. The population density was 25.8 per square mile (10.0/km²). There were 484 housing units at an average density of 10.2 per square mile (3.9/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.04% White, 0.49% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.33% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.71% of the population.There were 451 households out of which 31.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.7% were married couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.8% were non-families. 18.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.04.
