A proud member of MedStar Health, the region’s largest integrated health system, MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital was founded in 1968 through a gift from local merchant and philanthropist Thomas J. O'Neill.
We are a 287-bed adult care community teaching hospital, with 206 acute care beds, 51 rehab beds and 30 subacute beds. We provide comprehensive services which include intensive and cardiac care units, an expanding number of innovative medical and surgical capabilities, and primary care physicians and specialists who are rated tops in their fields.
Long known as a specialty center for rehabilitation and orthopaedics, MedStar Good Samaritan has expanded its range of health care services to better serve those in our community: gynecologists and pediatricians have been added so that entire families — your family — can be cared for right here, right now. And our emergency room consistently receives high marks for patient satisfaction.
The Good Health Center provides an array of free and low-cost diagnostic screenings, educational seminars and preventive medicine services for the community. The Good Samaritan Nursing Center and Belvedere Green, also located on the hospital campus, provide independent living services and long-term care for seniors.
