My Labor of Love. Why do I love what I do so much?! Figured it out and I felt the need to write about it. What better place than here, right? Ok - so, it might sound corny, but it's the truth...
I hear your sigh from the other side of the door as you (the client) settle on my table. As soon as I enter my room, shut the door behind me, choose my music, close my eyes, and make contact, the outside world disappears for me. It's just gone. Every time.
No matter what's going on in my personal life; no matter what mood or situation or physical state I'm in, we begin to float away together - you and I. My cozy massage room becomes the whole universe and we are the only ones in it. It soon becomes a deep meditation for both of us.
I see a color that is impossible to describe - Inigo, a deep purple, bluish, more vibrant than any color I've ever seen with my eyes open. Other colors come in and out - colors of your chakras. The colors mix with my visualizations - images of your muscles, organs, blood, tendons, ligaments, brain.
One structure leads me to the next. I follow my hands. They know. I don't, but they do. Abstract images of emotional and/or physical pain and restrictions your body holds are revealed to me. I take a deep breath in, and it all softens with my exhale. Your body flows like thick water in my hands...
What better way to make a living? A peaceful meditation. A meaningful connection with another person's being. An opportunity for healing. So frickin' cool !!! <3
