Mendocino Folklore Camp is a wonderful vacation and a retreat from the stress of urban life and daily routines

THE PROGRAM
Folklore Camp’s Workshops offer a wide variety of both formal and informal learning opportunities, taught by a talented, knowledgeable, world-class teaching staff. Our workshops offer INTERNATIONAL dance, instrumental and vocal techniques. Unique to Folklore Camp are our cultural happy hour celebrations where teachers share their country’s folklore and traditions.

THE FACILITY AND ACCOMMODATIONS
The workshops are set in The Mendocino Woodlands (a National Historic Landmark Camp), a lush 720-acre redwood forest nine miles inland Mendocino, CA (four hour drive north of San Francisco). Camper cabins are rustic but charming with a stone fireplace, balcony, small closet, and four twin cots with comfortable mattresses. They do NOT have bedding, heat or electricity, BUT ARE clustered around bathrooms with showers that are a short walk down (or up) the path.

EVENING PROGRAM & DANCE PARTY
After dinner we play teacher dances and camper requests. Directly followed by a “live music” dance party with our fabulous camp band. Late night fun continues with games, jam sessions and sing-alongs in the after hours Kafana.

FOOD AND FINE DINING
Folklore Camp is known for it's food, served with imagination and the highest in culinary expertise. Delicious ethnic foods from around the world! We welcome back for another year our incredibly talented chef Tod Nysether and his wonderful crew.
