MGSA at UNC Charlotte

The Mathematics Graduate Student Association is dedicated to providing a wide range of activities for our members. We strive to assist the teaching staff in providing quality programs and courses of instruction in the mathematical sciences and mathematics education at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as fostering research and other professional activities at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. We also want our members to interact with the larger university community as well as with the appropriate segments of the local, state, and national communities to provide services relating to the mathematical sciences and mathematical education. We seek to accomplish this by organizing and presenting colloquium talks and organizing social gatherings to meet those in similar fields. We also accomplish this by sending our members to conferences which helps our members in research, teaching, and presentation skills. Our members also go to these conferences to give talks on their topics which gain our members experience in giving an academic presentation where there exists academic criticism. At these conferences, our members represent the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and the MGSA works hard in helping make this happen. Most importantly, the MGSA wants to instill in our members and in those around us a love and appreciation of mathematics.
