Middle Class Records

Middle Class Records was formed by the hard work of KC's premiere roots music record label, Little Class Records.

Little Class Records was just a hobby until the founders, Jody Hendrix and Matt Dennis were brought on as employees at Westport Saloon around late 2013. It quickly became apparent that adding a small music venue to the operations of an independent record label was like adding fuel to fire.

LCR and Westport Saloon quickly grew in popularity and respect among the national independent roots music scene.

With a revolutionary business model that breaks the standard record label mold, it made sense to duplicate these processes in order to spread our resources into other music genres. Where is the best place to do that? recordBar.

Steve Tulipana is a trusted member of the KC music community and his establishments are blameless in a world where there is a shady club owner in every zip code. It's Steve's experience and reputation that made us want to work with him.

We're here to nurture KC music and reclaim our title as a music city. We're not here to monopolize anything. We're friends with almost every record label operator in town, in fact we offer all of our friends access to our resources and hope to be an agent of change in the music culture of Kansas City.
