Mighty Kicks offers Premier Introductory and Mobile Soccer Programs for kids. Our enthusiastic and experienced instructors teach basic soccer skills by using age-appropriate games, drills, and exercises. The sessions are healthy, educational, and FUN! The team atmosphere builds socialization and LIFE SKILLS at an important developmental age. Our Programs introduce the positive character strengths that are proven to have a direct impact on achievement and success in sports, school and life . Our quality instructors, innovative curriculum (teaching soccer skills and building character), and developed programs help us develop children while leaving a lasting impression.

PROGRAMS:

Our ENRICHMENT PROGRAM (ages 3-5) for Preschools and Day Cares allows parents to enroll their child in a quality extracurricular activity without an additional time investment. Mighty Kicks partners with the school (adding great value) and adapts the program to accommodate each center's needs.

The AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM (ages 5-8) takes place at elementary schools and provides a fun, creative environment for skill development.

Our OPEN PROGRAMS (ages 2-7) for home-schoolers (and the general public) takes place at convenient locations throughout the city. The Parent/Child Interactive Class (for ages 2 - 3.5) is a part of the Open Programs offerings.

The RECREATIONAL SOCCER LEAGUE (ages 3-8) provides a safe and fun environment for skill development, team play and healthy competition.

The Mighty Kicks ADVANCED PROGRAM (ages 8-14) brings the game to older children along with an advanced curriculum and Life Skills Focus . Got Grit? The Advanced Program seeks to develop the resilience, passion and courage (aka "grit" ) to help players face challenges on and off the pitch. By enabling players through instructing the “Growth Mindset ,” they have the confidence to learn through reaching and failing and reaching again. Every session provides high-energy instruction from experienced coaches who aim to challenge players to strive towards their potential. Among the lessons players learn is the importance of goal setting and cognitive behavioral strategies to help improve self-control. They also learn how to develop better focus, effort and determination. Coaches introduce a new character strength every week and provide the materials to assist parents reinforce its importance and how it relates to soccer, school and life.

OTHER SERVICES INCLUDE: Birthday Parties, Soccer Appearances, Field Trips, Private Training, Team Consultations, League Play, Outreach Initiatives, Spanish Program and Summer Camps (call your local director for details) .

Justin Buckwalter - Owner/Director

Justin is excited to use his experience and passion for soccer to impact the youth of Rowan, Cabarrus, and Davidson counties in the Piedmont Region of NC. With the assistance of the Proven Mighty Kicks Programs and Curriculum, Justin (along with the other high-energy instructors) will help your children develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially through the world’s greatest game!

Justin has been playing/coaching soccer since 1987! Originally from Lancaster, PA, he played soccer at Catawba College in Salisbury, NC and graduated in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. Justin has taught Middle School Physical Education and coached soccer there since 2005. In 2013 and 2014 he led the Jesse C. Carson HS Men’s Varsity team to their first and second South Piedmont Conference Championships! The 2013 team (17-5 record) lost in the 3rd round of the State Playoffs in penalty kicks while the 2014 squad (19-2-1 record) met the same fate in the second round. He was the SPC conference and Region 7 3A Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2014!

Justin is eager to give back to the community through the sport that has been such a big influence on his formation and life. His goal is to aid the overall development of each child (building soccer skills, life skills and Character) within the framework of the “beautiful game.” Justin lives in Salisbury, NC, with his wife Cassie and their two daughters: Essie (born 2012) and Millie (born in 2014)!
