Mik Nao Dance Studio

Welcome to MikNao Dance Studio! A dance studio for all ages and all abilities, named after my two daughters who are the inspiration, Mikaela and Naomi.

MikNao Dance Studio all started with a single experience where my daughter Mikaela, who has special needs, was turned away from the same dance class her sister Naomi was already in. I asked if Mikaela could join the other girls at the school, but they requested that I put her in a separate room to see what she was capable of. As much as I didn't want her to once again be segregated, reluctantly I agreed, just so Mikaela, who loves dancing, could share the same experience with her sister.

The following week we returned and before I could speak to the front desk, Naomi's dance instructor came out to gather up the girls. She looked down at both of mine and said, "Let's go girls!" I stopped her to explain what the facility had wanted and that Mikaela has a disability. She firmly said, "I don't believe in disabilities. I believe all children have different abilities." As I watched her whisk off with my two girls, my heart swelled with gratitude and appreciation.

That's when my vision became clear, Dance has no Boundaries. And today I invite you to come meet all of our wonderful instructors here at MikNao Dance Studio, who portrays the same love and acceptance for all of their students.

And I would like to state, now three years later, we've watched so many accomplish their dreams. We've seen them come so far. They've worked with such passion in their eyes and love in their heart doing what they thought they couldn't do. And when they reach that goal and get up on stage, you too will see crowds of over 500 people roaring, crying, on their feet shouting with joy, so proud of someone who was told 'No'. That's the gift we want to give to you.

So without further ado, Welcome to MikNao Dance Studio! A dance studio where all children can feel they belong and flourish in a social environment that celebrates everyone's uniqueness.
