Minden Tennis & Aquatic Club

Welcome to the Facebook page for the Minden Tennis and Aquatic Club, providing Minden with a special recreational facility since 1966. MTAC was a vision of a handful of people in 1965. Among the original progenitors of the idea were Dr. John Hill, Major de Pingre', Mrs. S.B. Samuel, Dr. R. McIntyre Bridges, Sonny Taylor, Shorty Long, Graydon Kitchens Jr., Clyde Brown and Eugene Allen. Construction soon began and on June 1, 1966, the pool was completed. Their vision and dream are what we are enjoying today.

MTAC boasts a new, L-shaped swimming pool complete with racing lanes, starting blocks, a 1-meter diving board and an enclosed slide. The club is proud to sponsor and serve as home to the Stingrays, Minden's own competitive swim team for individuals ages 5-18 years. MTAC also offers four regulation, lighted tennis courts -- two are post-tension concrete courts and two are Har-Tru clay courts. We have an active adult tennis league, and tennis lessons are offered for the children.

MTAC is a non-profit private club, run by an elected board of directors whose responsibility is to provide its members with the finest and most complete swimming and tennis facility in our area. MTAC is geared to all ages. Please view our News and Events page to see what's going on at the club.

MTAC's sources of income are from the sale of stock, annual membership dues, donations from our members and sponsors, and from fundraisers. Contact the club president or any board member about ways that you can help.
