More about Mission Solano

Mission SOLANO Rescue Mission was founded in 1998 when our Executive Director, Ron Marlette, discerned the growing need in the community to provide for the homeless individuals in Solano County, California. It began with a donated bus that a handful of volunteers began to shelter the homeless in and soon became a "bus shelter." Then we went the Churches, and the opened their doors and hearts for those in need of shelter and care. Soon Mission Solano's "Nomadic Shelter" was birthed, and 19 years later, we continue sheltering and working with the Churches of Solano County. Only now, we also have a campus with the capacity to shelter and holistically care for 208 men, women, children, families, and veterans.

Soon, we expanded our mission by opening our Community Outreach Center, an emergency care facility providing necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, medical and mental health care, showers, and toiletries. We also developed the Nomadic Sheltering system, a network of churches in Fairfield that provided their buildings as overnight shelters on a rotating basis. In the early years, this saved us the costs for maintaining a housing facility, but even today we continue to transport our 50 guests to and from these locations to give them a place to spend the night.

We now own and operate our Bridge to Life Center. One of Northern California’s only holistic centers that is 80% complete on a 3.5-acre lot. You can see this amazing campus online at missionsolano.org.
Mission SOLANO solidified its future early through the conception of a concrete mission, vision, and core of values:

Our Mission
To minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to the homeless of Solano County by providing food, shelter, clothing, counseling, education and job skills training. And to inform the public in caring for the poverty stricken.

Our Vision
