In 1995, the“Jubilee Theatre” was renamed, renovated, and reopened by Mission Waco after years of being desolate, empty, and for the most part, forgotten. Its reopening heralded opportunities for neighborhood programs, special events, children’s talent shows, community meetings, and more.
After 15 years, Jubilee Theatre was once again in need of repairs and renovations. This time, through the help various partners within the Waco community such as David Crowder, The Greater Waco Council of the Arts, and several other individuals, the facelift was more comprehensive and enduring. In the fall of 2010, Jubilee Theatre reopened with new curtains, new technological enhancements and an expanded stage.
Also exciting was the acquisition of a $10,000 grant in June 2012 from Giving of Life, a group of three Christian businessmen who actively support non-profit organizations that improve their communities. The grant will allow Jubilee Theatre to expand its programming.
