Philosophy
MCELC strives to provide an environment in which children can experience the excitement, the wonder and the joy of growing up. Every child is treated with respect and kindness and his/her uniqueness and individuality are both honored and celebrated. Children learn through play and real life experiences. Our teachers provide developmentally appropriate experiences, which focus on the whole child: physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.

Rather than simply talking to the children about concepts, our teachers provide the children with opportunities to learn through manipulation of real materials, spending time in nature, hands on experiences, visits from community members, reading stories, and singing songs.

The main objective of MCELC is to provide a safe and stimulating environment which will help children develop within themselves the foundation of positive habits, attitudes, skills and ideas which are essential for a lifetime of creative thinking and learning.
