More about Montana Homeplace

The perfect private estate for your wedding, family reunion, family vacation or just a wonderful get a way for skiing, fly fishing, golf, rafting or sightseeing.

GROUND FLOOR:
From the ground floor of this incredible 40 acre Montana estate our guests enjoy cross country skiing, breathtaking views of Tobacco Valley, Lake Koocanusa and Black Lake and gaze into the Canadian Rockies, West Kootenei mountains and the Whitefish range, all from the living room, the front porch and the upper deck outside the Master Suite. This one of a kind private property is remote and isolated yet less than 10 minutes from downtown Eureka MT where there are several good restaurants and places to shop. The character of the main house is 100% pure Montana! It features floors and stair ways of reclaimed barn wood, 20 foot tall ceiling and large stone fire place imbedded in a wall of 12 inch reclaimed Oregon bridge timbers. Handmade twisted Juniper wood tables add character and uniqueness to the ground floor living area, while leather recliners, swivel chairs and a lovely sofa provide comfortable seating in the living room. A beautiful moose rack chandelier illuminates the living room and an authentic ancient Wooly Mammoth (Mammoths primigenius) tusk sits atop the huge mantel which is a reclaimed pegged bridge timber. These Mammoths still walked the earth when the Pyramids were built. The last known survivors are thought to have perished 2500 to 2000 years ago. This beautiful artifact was found frozen in the Alaskan Tundra over a hundred years ago and now is proudly displayed above the warm fire place reminding us of eras past. The kitchen/dining area features an 1800's wood burning cook stove that has been modernized to use electricity as well as a totally modern convection microwave oven, dish washer, dining table and chairs, refrigerator/ freezer, disposal, bar and bar stools. Also on the ground floor is a full bath, and 2 bedrooms each with full size beds and closets. One bedroom features a full size hand made wolf pelt comforter and the other a full size hand made beaver pelt comforter.
SECOND FLOOR:
The spacious Master Suite is on the second floor and features sliding glass patio doors that open to a walk-out deck. The Master Bath has a glass and granite shower for 2, his and her sinks, individual storage space and a Jacuzzi tub for 2 (a very romantic place). All the Master Suite furniture is hand built from reclaimed wood including the very comfortable king size bed. (The bed rails are made from an old barn door). Also on the second floor is a living area/TV room with cable, a comfortable recliner and sleeper sofa.
LOWER LEVEL:
The lower level is a fully self-contained walk-out basement apartment. The apartment contains a full bath, bedroom, living area, and laundry/exercise room. This living area has a big screen TV with Direct TV cable, a DVD player, with dozens of movies to select from. The bedroom is rather large with a king size bed, a twin with trundle bed, small dinette set a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The laundry room/exercise room has a washer and dryer and a TV to watch while on the treadmill.
GAME ROOM:
The game room is detached from the main house therefore allowing some separation between those who prefer peace and quiet while others enjoy a livelier or louder experience. Here one will find a full size regulation ping pong table and full size regulation pool table, refrigerator and fully functional 1800's wood stove with plenty firewood in the attached wood shed. The leather recliner and reclining sofas make sitting around the stove so very comfortable while watching others compete on the tables.
