More about Morton Christian Church

At MCC, you will find real, caring people who are excited to welcome you into the family. A typical Sunday worship gathering will include prayer, worship songs that are a mixture of contemporary songs and classic hymns, a time to remember Jesus' death through communion, a challenging biblical message, and other elements of worship that are intended to refocus our attention on God.

Some people wear suits, while others dress more casually. We are normal people who fall down and pick each other up. You can expect a loving environment where you will be welcomed as family, no matter where you're from or who you are.

Please join us for Sunday morning classes as well. They are for the whole family and meet from 9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. For more information on specific classes, visit our adult ministry page at www.mortoncc.org

Following the class, we all head downstairs for a time to connect and talk while enjoying free coffee and donuts.

We meet together every Sunday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for a time of worship, prayer, teaching, and celebrating the Lord's Supper. Childcare for both infants and toddlers is offered during this time.

If you have any questions, feel free to check us out on a Sunday or stop by our office.
You can call us at (309) 266-7410 or email us at mcc@mortoncc.com.

There are many intellectual and theological phrases that could be used to describe Morton Christian Church. Words such as: independent, non-denominational, and autonomous to name a few. Although they might be accurate in their descriptions, they can be confusing as well.

A better description would be that Morton Christian Church is a community of believers in God who look to the Bible for instruction on how to live life with God, with His church and with the community around us. Life in the “church” that is focused on worship, study, and service will provide the framework for our personal spiritual growth, interaction and survival in the culture we live in today. Below are some key references to scripture from which we receive our identity.

We Believe ...

… that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who died for our sins and arose from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)

… that the Bible is the inspired word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)

… that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fallen short of what God desires for us. (Romans 3:23)

… that forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust in God and his son Jesus as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16)

… that those desiring to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord should turn to God, confess him as Lord, and be immersed in baptism. (Romans 10:9–10, Acts 2:38, Galatians 3:26-27)

… that the church is the body of Christ on earth. It is empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and strengthen the saved. (Ephesians 4:1-6, 11-16)

… that Jesus will one day return and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
