A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR

The called out Body of Believer of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor, Community Leader, Family and Friends.

Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

In November 1987 a small group of member representing the Pastoral Search Committee of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church recommended to the church body to elect my wife Dorothy and I to become the 3rd Pastoral Ministry team of the church. It was on the 1st Sunday of December of that year I became, by the grace of God, Pastor elect of the church.

It is with great joy that we celebrate the Golden Anniversary of the founding of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church this year. We are also celebrating the Silver Pastoral Anniversary on this occasion as the 3rd Pastor of this great church. Benjamin Baker said that the anniversary time “is a celebration for what the Lord has done in the life of his people.” For many years, God has stood by our side. We recognize that God gets all the Praise and the Glory as we look at what God has done, it is marvelous in our eyes. We have come this far by faith leaning on the Lord, trusting in his Holy word. He has never failed us yet.

It was through the leadership of the 1st two pastors: Rev. J.L. Lancaster and Rev. Eddie L. Arrington respectfully whose faithful service laid the foundation for this church faithfully in this 21st century.

There is a divine purpose and plan that God has for us to move forward by the aid of the Holy Spirit. The Divine Commission of Matthew 28:19-20. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

God has promised to reward us. We have spent many years in faithful service to God and God has been faithful to keep His word. As we move forward and walk with the Lord as our steps are ordered by the Lord, God has forged a path for us. I will stay on the path the word of God says that all things will work together for good to those who love God. We must pray without ceasing that God will continue to anoint the ministry of the church.
