Located in the small (population 97) hamlet of Camp Nelson, the area is home to a few amenities to serve year-round residents (primarily retirees) and recreational visitors --Nelson's Tavern -- a bar and restaurant with a dog-friendly outdoor patio; Camp Nelson Lodge --an upscale 12-room motel; and the Camp Nelson General Store where you can pick up a few postcards and a trail guide, rent DVDs and stock up on any groceries you may need during your stay. There's also a small hardware store next door to the General Store, offering sundry items for practical and seasonal recreational purposes -- kites or snow gloves, etc.
