More about Mountain Country Log Restoration

Mountain Country Log Builders is based out of the town Rathdrum in the great Northern Panhandle of Idaho! I am a hand crafted, saddle notch log home builder. Then I shifted gears into the restoration aspect of already built, hand crafted log homes. I also work on milled kit log homes, log siding, cedar siding, you name it! If it has logs, I can fix it!

During the many years doing this line of work I naturally evolved into a professional chinker. Staining the homes is by far, the finishing touch to all the hard work that brings it all together! I take pride in this skilled trade and there are not many out there who do this type of work.
My dad hired me to start carving out notches with a 026 Stihl chain saw when I was 12 years old in Kenai, Alaska. We built many brand new homes together. After I graduated high school in Alaska, I drove off to North Carolina. My parents being the last two in Alaska of the family, they decided to move to Branson, Missouri where my dad got a contract restoring over 30 hand crafted log homes in one location.
The resort is called Big Cedar Resort ( www.bigcedarresort.com ), owned by Bass Pro Shops. This is where I fine tuned my restoration skills and got lots of experience. I learned what caused all the log homes to rot and what can prevent it from happening to others who invest their entire lives into their dream home! At Big Cedar resort, we worked on cabins, multi million dollar lodges and multi million dollar restaurants . Replacing full saddle notch corners from bottom to top, full round logs halfway up the wall, replacing ridge poles, perlins, deck posts, we did it all! Once that project was finished, I moved out to Idaho in 2011 to get closer to my home roots and family.

Now I want to work for you! I know the best products to use out there on the market! If you need an estimate on staining, chinking or dry rot/bug repair, please contact us at Mountain Country Log Restoration!
