BUILD, MAINTAIN, PROTECT
Mountain Trails Foundation is a member-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to building, maintaining and protecting trails for non-motorized recreation in the Park City area.
Creating and maintaining a seamless, year-round trail system is a monumental undertaking. Mountain Trails works closely with Park City Municipal (the City), Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District (Basin Rec), Deer Valley and Park City Resort and other private land owners. Work done by these organizations, along with efforts from open-space advocates such as Summit Land Conservancy, have created one of the most extensive, continuous trail systems in the nation.
FUNDING TRAILS
Funding for both winter and summer operations comes, in large part, from membership, donations, corporate support, and revenue from our 3 trail races: Jupiter Peak Steeplechase, Mid Mountain Marathon and Tour des Suds.
ADVOCACY
Trail advocacy is part and parcel to protecting access to trails. Mountain Trails helps keep trail users up to speed on etiquette and safety issues by providing on-trail signage, messaging in social media, and a monthly newsletter. By keeping trail users in the know, we help mitigate conflict between user groups and make the trail system a safer, happier place to play.
