God's Plan of Salvation
God's part: God loved us so much he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. (John 3:16)
Jesus' Part: Jesus loved us so much he was willing to be the perfect sacrifice and die for our sins. (John 15:13 and John 1:29)
Jesus has one church. It is his body that he purchased with his blood. We can obey his word and be added to his church. (Ephesians 1:22-23 and 4:5; Acts 20:28 and Acts 2:38)
Man's part: Man must obey Jesus Christ for Jesus to be the author of man's eternal salvation (Hebrews 5:8-9)
Steps to salvation:
1) We must hear the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. By hearing the word of God, we receive faith (Romans 10:17, 1 Cor. 15:1-4)
2) We must believe in Jesus as the son of God (John 8:24) We must have faith in God. (Hebrews 11:1 and 6)
3) We must repent of all sin. Repentance means being sorry for our sin and turning around to begin serving the Lord. (Luke 13:3 and 5, Acts 17:30)
4) We must make a confession before men confessing our faith in Christ. (Matthew 10:32-33 and Romans 10:9-10)
5)We must be baptized in water for the remission of sins, to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and to be added to the Lord's church (Acts 2:36-41 and 4, 1 Peter 3:21, Mark 16:16, Galatians 3:27, and Romans 6:3)
We understand and realize that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Thank God that he has given us an opportunity to get out of our sin. We have a choice to continue in sin and be separated from God, or to turn to the Lord and live for him, and have eternal life. After we are baptized and become a christian, we must be faithful to him until death to receive the eternal crown of life. (Revelation 2:10) I encourage all that read this to obey the Lord's plan of salvation, come into his loving arms, and be prepared to meet him at the appointed time.
