The Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center is home to the Mountain Warfare Fire Department. Due to its location in the Eastern Sierra Mountains of California, the base is one of the most remote and isolated bases in the Corps. The extreme environmental conditions and the isolated location of the base present special challenges to firefighters whenever they are called to provide service. Regardless, MWTC firefighters respond on and off the base with pride and professionalism, no matter what the challenge.
**Future expansion will include a newly expanded and renovated Fire Department, the addition of Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic services and enhanced Hazardous Materials response capability.
