Mr. K's Used Books, Music & More - Asheville

We trade used books, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, audiobooks and Video Games for store trade credit There are items for which we pay cash.

We have two colors of trade credit and each one designates what that credit slip can purchase.

PURPLE Trade Credit is given to a customer who trades in BOOKS, COMIC BOOKS, and AUDIO BOOKS. This trade can be used to purchase USED BOOKS, COMIC BOOKS, and AUDIO BOOKS.

GREEN Trade Credit is given to a customer who trade in MUSIC CDs, DVDs, and current VIDEO GAMES. This trade can be used to purchase everything in the store except YELLOW STICKERED MERCHANDISE and SIDE ITEMS.

Trade credit cannot be used to purchase books we buy new from the distributor. These books are designated with a YELLOW price sticker on the front.

We cannot offer trade credit or cash for:

* books in poor condition (torn, soiled, stained, smelly, damaged, etc.)
* books published outside our age limits
* books that we subjectively feel are unsellable
* books previously purchased here which now fall into any of the above categories.

Mr. K’s Holding Policy

We will hold up to 3 items for 3 days! Trade credit may not be used to purchase held items.

Mr. K’s Trading Policy

Books
Trade: For any book traded, you will receive 40-50% of our estimated selling price for that book.

Cash: There are some books for which we can offer cash. We offer 20% of our estimated selling price for high-demand fiction pocketbooks, children's books and young adult books. We offer 30% of our selling price on non-fiction and high-demand fiction.

Cash & Trade: You will receive cash for those books for which we can give cash & trade credit for the rest.

Comic Books
We offer 20% of our selling priice in cash or 40% in trade.

Books-on-CD:
We offer 30% of our selling price in cash or 40-50% in trade.

CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays and Video Games:
We offer 25-30% of our selling price in cash or 40-50% in trade

Vinyl LP Records:
We offer only cash at 25% to 30% of our selling price.

Electronics:
For e-readers, iphones, ipads, ipods and current video game consoles we offer only cash at 30% of our selling price.


We also pay cash for the following depending on current inventory:

* Science Fiction & Fantasy pocketbooks
* Classic & Modern Literature
* Westerns
* Fiction on the current New York Times Best Sellers List
* Most non-fiction hardbacks including school textbooks, history, cookbooks, crafts, self-help, Inspirational, etc.

We reserve the right to deny cash or trade due to overstock on certain titles or genres.

Mr. K's Return Policy
Any item purchased at Mr. K's may be returned for up to 10 days if it is found to be defective and it is in the same condition as purchased. 3 items per calendar year may be returned. All returns must have M. K's sticker with guarantee date on it. Equivalent trade credit will be issued for the defective item.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who fits our definitions of a dealer. We also prohhibit the use of scanners or other portable electronics to pick inventory for resale.
