MSTC Gerontology Program

Are you a good listener and problem solver with patience and creativity? Are you interested in working with our aging population? Mid-State’s new Gerontology program sounds like the perfect fit for you!

The Gerontology program prepares you to work in service delivery and leadership roles in a rapidly growing field. You learn about the multidisciplinary nature of gerontology, including the psychological, sociological, and physiological changes that occur during late adulthood. As a part of the curriculum, you have opportunities for practical experience in a broad range of settings during the fourth semester.

Demand for qualified individuals will grow as the population ages. Graduates may find employment in municipal and county aging services departments, aging housing and transportation services, small business self-employment, adult day care and recreation services, and client/patient navigation services.
