Muertos Kitchen and Lounge

Muertos is my new vision for lounge and patio seating. Guests will enjoy playful menu options with an outstanding selection of beer and seasonal wines. Located in the heart of downtown Bakersfield, this unique and beautiful brick building originally served as a stable in the late 1800s and is situated in the iconic Wall Street alley.

My grandmother passed away in 1999. I miss her dearly and carry her spirit with me every day. Dia de los Muertos translates from Spanish as Day of the Dead, and is a day set aside to honor and celebrate the lives of those we love, but who are no longer with us. My life has been
blessed with much joy and challenged by great sorrow. All of my life's paths have led to Muertos -- not as an end, but as a way to continue to live life the best way that I can. With peace in my heart, I embrace the mantra, "Do not fear death, but the unlived life."
