Musica Franklin

Musica Franklin is based on the El Sistema music and social change program in Venezuela which aims to provide opportunity to students of all economic classes, races, and of diverse learning styles. The pursuit of musical excellence teaches students to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives.

Our after-school program for youth meets in two locations: Leyden Woods Community Room on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4:00-5:30 p.m. and Sheffield Elementary School from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- No fees or auditions.
- Music experience NOT required.
- We provide snacks.
-Targeted towards ages 7-13.

Family nights twice a month include a meal for all. One family night each month features a performance by a local musician or group. We also bring students on field trips to see professional musicians.

Musica Franklin students perform regularly in the community, and our first year will end with a celebratory performance in a public venue.

We plan to expand the program each year to include more children, elementary through high school ages.
