Why choose a sunflower as an image with the name being Mustard Seed Photography? Well, I'm glad you asked! Let me break it down for ya!

I (the mother part of the team) have long been obsessed with the parable of the mustard seed in the Bible. When I was a young teenager, my parents bought me a mustard seed necklace and they explained to me the idea behind mustard seed faith. This is one of my first memories in my Christian walk, when I think of my relationship with God. The concept of mustard seed faith is large growth from tiny beginnings.

Hebrews 11:6 - "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

Matthew 17:20 "He replied,“Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

The mustard seed is one of the tiniest seeds found in the Middle East. So, the amount of faith needed to do great things is very small. The mustard seed grows to be a huge tree, representing the tiny beginnings of Christianity when just a few disciples began to preach and teach the gospel. Superhuman outcomes were reached by those whose faith was once only the size of a mustard seed.

Now! The reason for the sunflower image!
The sunflower symbolizes adoration, loyalty and strength. It is admired for its sunny charm and delightful disposition. The name sunflower aka Helianthus (Greek) comes from its tendency to reposition itself to face the sun. Helios in Greek means sun and Anthos in Greek means flower. In China, people associate sunflowers with a long life, good fortune and vitality. For Native American groups, the sunflower represents harvest, bounty and provision.
In the words of Helen Keller, "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows."

With all that being said, my faith is bigger than any shadows that follow me! I believe that as long as we focus on the sun, let God deal with the shadows, and if we have that Mustard Seed FAITH...God will use us for His glory! We give this business to HIM, putting it in His hands. Our goal is to use our "sunny charm and delightful disposition" to make our clients feel comfortable while we show them the love of JESUS and capture some awesome memories for them cherish for years to come!
