We strongly believe that further objective scientific data from the field is required to achieve a sustainable marine future for Endangered Southern Resident killer whales. The scientific process must engage the general public if it is to change the world. To that end, we involve people from all walks of life directly in this specific marine research.
NaWhaRe uses scientific field research to educate and promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable marine environment in order to save these Endangered marine mammals. Killer whale sightings and data on areas of regular winter occurrence, movement patterns, and dietary preference, is collected to aid policymaking agencies with the Southern Resident killer whale long-term recovery plan.
We are all responsible for educating others about the plight of Endangered Southern Resident killer whales. They have no voice to tell us about the environmental impacts that are affecting their long-term survival.
NaWhaRe is that voice and we invite you to join us.
