NAPLES AREA BOARD OF REALTORS® FACEBOOK GUIDELINES

GOAL: To provide the organizational framework for effective engagement and communications with NABOR’s internal (members) and external (public) audiences using Facebook.

PURPOSE: To create NABOR’s “one voice” guidelines that are readily understandable and easy to implement. These Guidelines apply to NABOR Administrators authorized to use Facebook’s “Business” Page or Member Group for NABOR.

FACEBOOK GUIDELINES
1. All Facebook activity should adhere to the Naples Area Board of REALTORS® Social Media Policy General Guidelines.
2. The Facebook “Business” Page. The NABOR Administrator will create and manage a Facebook “Business” Page for NABOR. The page can be enhanced with applications that help NABOR communicate with and engage members and the public. The page will be restricted to permit only the NABOR Administrator to post content. Other persons can only share, comment, and/or ‘like’ the content posted by a NABOR Administrator. Both members and nonmembers will have access to the content on the page.
a. Description. The Naples Area Board of REALTORS® (NABOR) Facebook “Business” Page is a place for NABOR to interact with members, consumers, the media, and other key constituencies, and share information about real estate and the association. NABOR respects the rights of individuals using Facebook to voice their views and opinions. However, within our Facebook channels, we reserve the right to remove without prior notice any comments that in NABOR’s sole discretion are considered inappropriate, off-topic, abusive, self promotion, listing promotion, or are being used to promote and solicit for third-party sites, initiatives or products. We encourage your feedback! Please keep comments related to the topics presented and always show respect for other members of this community.
b. General Information. The information provided on the NABOR Facebook page is for educational and informational purposes only. The information should not be construed as a recommendation by NABOR for any course of action regarding financial, legal or accounting matters. It is not meant as a substitute for professional advice from a qualified legal, accounting or financial professional. NABOR does not represent, warrant or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any information displayed, uploaded, downloaded or distributed through this page by any user, or any other person or entity. c. Content. Content for the page should be applicable to members' businesses and suitable for sharing with members’ customers and the public. Examples include: statistical data from NABOR, Florida REALTORS, or NAR, real estate news, local news, and news that can affect members. NABOR can post information from NAR (such as about the first‑time home buyer tax credit), events, and information that reflects positively on NABOR, such as sponsored causes or charities.

3. The Facebook Member Group. The NABOR Administrator will create and manage a private Facebook Group comprised only of NABOR members. Upon request by a NABOR committee or task force, e.g. RPAC or Global, additional private groups can be created to facilitate communication for that committee or task force. The NABOR Administrator can choose to offer access to the group by invitation or approve a request for membership.

4. Facebook Marketing Best Practices
Marketing messages published on Facebook are most effective if they hold some additional value, or represent only a fraction of all of the messages published by NABOR. Think of Facebook as primarily a communication tool, and secondarily as a marketing tool.
