And what about the food? Well, Texas Monthly (Aug. 2011) raved about the Chicken Fried Steak with our sausage gravy. The Houston Press put our black bean Daughter-in-Law burger on their list of 100 Favorite Dishes (July 2011). In her review (Feb. 2011), Katharine Shilcutt said, “’The menu is classic Texas all the way, with short diversions into the rest of the South for items like pulled pork sandwiches and sliders. It's at its best when serving up local country classics like an open-faced meat loaf sandwich.”
Come and find your favorite from our selection of burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and more. Add to that breakfast starting at 8am and served all day, lunch specials under $8 and supper plates to satisfy even the biggest appetites. It’s all homemade, so you can tell your southern mama that you’re eating right! Top it all off with a cold beer, or one of our signature punch drinks from the bar. Weekday Happy Hour runs 3 to 6pm, with great deals on drinks, plus half-price appetizers. Come on Saturday for a $3 mimosa, or Sunday for our $3 Bloody Mary, voted “Best Drink Special 2011” by the Houston Press. There’s live music on the weekends, showcasing everything from Houston blues legends to up and coming young talent.
