More about Navajo Ministries

Navajo Ministries’ four programs include:

The Four Corners Home for Children has been home to hundreds of dependent children in the region since 1953. We are currently licensed by the state of New Mexico to care for 28 children in group-home settings throughout three homes. The numbers of children cared for vary throughout the year depending on need. Children, who are primarily Navajo, are placed here through family placements or through Navajo Social Services.

The Navajo Ministries School has provided educational services to more than 300 students since 1999. Small classroom sizes of generally no more than 12-15 students greatly helps these children advance to grade level in one school year. Many come to us one to two grade levels behind their peers due to many factors. Most students live at Navajo Ministries, while others come to us through our partnership with Childhaven, a local shelter for abused and neglected children. The first-through-fifth-grade elementary school is part of the Farmington Municipal Schools District.

KNMI Vertical Radio (FM 88.9) was the first Christian radio station in the region beginning in 1980. Today, the station plays a Christian Hit Music Format and has significant impact in the community through live remotes for worthy causes, high school sports broadcasts and a daily community program hosted by President Jim Baker. The station is also the official broadcast home of the annual Connie Mack World series each August.

Navajo Nation Outreach connects with people in Navajoland in a variety of ways. Work projects in the summer and Christmas Connections, which delivers toys, food, clothing, blankets and other items to more than 300 needy Navajo families, are part of this program.
