Nelson Farms started in 1996 when we began raising and showing American Saddlebred Show Horses..Soon we realized we wanted to be able to live life to the fullest and grow our life and live simpler, therefore we expanded to include chickens, goats,pigs and occasionally beef.
In 2013, we joined the Heritage Poultry Breeders Association and devoted our attention to improving the heritage poultry breeds of chickens that we own.
We currently have farm fresh eggs that are delicious in every dish, as well as baby chicks. Our chicken breeds include: Delaware, Lavender Orpington, Cottage Hill Line Blue & Black French Copper Marans, Brown Leghorns, White Leghorns, Buff Brahma, Troples line of Silver Wheaten Marans, Rhodebar, Backwoods Line Isabelle Leghorn & more.
New for 2014 - Nelson Farms has just added Nubian dairy goats to our farm plan. Our hope for these girls is that we are able to develop delicious goat milk soap and potentially cheese and other goods. Our Nubians will eventually produce offspring which will be made available to you.
