More about New Bethel AME Lakeland

New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church is a God centered congregation comprised of genuine adult and youth fellowship. We minister to the holistic needs of all by engaging individuals and families, spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally and financially. We have refreshing worship experiences that share God’s goodness, and emphasize Life’s Purpose through teaching, and outreach ministry touching our members in our Lakeland community.

New Bethel is a family-oriented congregation working together as disciples witnessing through love and care for others. We demonstrate our passion for studying, receiving and obeying the word of God, and growing in the Spirit and likeness of Jesus Christ. We are fervent in prayer, and share a heart of service. We invite all to accept the gift of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

New Bethel is a ministry built around the topic of “Life Purpose”. Once we discover and live out our life purpose it is then that we please God and are satisfied and fulfilled in life.

Life Purpose is the ultimate reason why a thing exists at that time (Kairos – God’s time & Chronos – man’s time). The ultimate goal of every believer should be one of functioning in your created purpose. In the book Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren asks, “Why am I here?” This four word question seems to ring and echo around the world since the day Adam and Eve were banned from the Garden of Eden. It is our responsibility to find out what our purpose is and it is God’s strong desire to reveal it to you.

Life Purpose is the creator’s divine destiny about the stages, chapters, or seasons of your life; where you were, where you are, and where you will be. With God’s sovereign position in the universe, God has already been where you are going. This assures us that God knows what is best for us and what He created us to do both collectively as a church and individually. Isaiah 46:9,10 says “Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” and Jeremiah says 29:12 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
