What began as a small, strictly local arts and crafts festival has developed over the past thirty years into the largest street festival in southwestern Michigan – and a highly anticipated summer event. Every year, Whittaker Street, which runs right through downtown, is closed to cars to make way for a family friendly celebration including arts and crafts, live music and games for the kids.
During the daytime hours, visitors can browse through artwork displays by local artisans and crafters and sample locally produced microbrew beers and wines, along with tasty dishes from food vendors. The kids can enjoy ice cream eating contests on Sunday and kid-friendly games all weekend. There is also a 5K run on Saturday morning and a pancake breakfast by our local fire dept on Sunday.
At night the live entertainment and beer tent becomes the focus for our guests to enjoy. Bands from Chicago and other areas are show cased for the crowds both Saturday and Sunday.
