New Castle Sailing Club

The New Castle Sailing Club sails out of New Castle's Battery Park from the last weekend in April until the last weekend in October. The club has a fleet of 12 sailboats represented by two classes: eight 17-foot Thistles and four 19-foot Flying Scots. All of the club's sailboats are in the Delaware River on moorings during the six-month sailing season. The river at this point is over a mile wide, with many more miles of upstream and downstream sailing space. The club offers free instruction and racing programs for club members.
