HISTORY of NEW HORIZONS MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH




The New Horizons Missionary Baptist Church was born from the need to worship God. Pastor Donald D. Ford, of Second Missionary Baptist Church of Grandview, MO, was eventually contacted and through his leadership a prospective Pastor was selected.



On February 2, 1994, Rev Harold G. Todd was elected Pastor of the New Horizons Baptist Church. New Horizons is a very unique organism that has been tried, tested and challenged.



During the last years, many accomplishments have come about for this young church.

Initially, the congregation met at the Martin Luther King Center, and then on April 3, 1994, after much work on the site, the congregation held its 1st Service at 1928 North 47th Street. Since that time new ministries have been developed which includes: Deacon Ministry, New Members Class, Evangelism, Outreach Ministry, Ministerial Team, Administrative Team, Community Development Corporation, Audio/Visual Ministry, and a number of other ministries.



From February of 1994 through February of 1998, the young church grew in excess of 250 members. Time has shown that the dedicated will prevail, and those who stay focused on Jesus are victorious.



October 1999, Pastor Harold Todd resigned as Pastor of New Horizons and the membership decreased tremendously.



In February 1, 2000 Pastor T. L. Hood was elected as the new Pastor of New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church. Up under the leadership of Pastor T. L. Hood the membership grew to 250 in his first year as Pastor. Because of the rapid growth we had to remove walls and extend parking to accommodate the membership. In 2001 four Deacons and one minister was ordained.



In 2003 the Lord placed on Pastor T. L. Hood’s heart to relocate. On June 20, 2004 we moved to a new church edifice locate at 2500 South 44th street, Kansas City, KS 66106. On September 15, 2004 the new church edifice was purchased and the name changed form New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church to Crossroads Christian Cathedral Church of Kansas City Kansas (CCC of KCK).



The church was dedicated in October 2004. Several Ministries was formed as well: Elders Council, Clothing Ministry, Dance Ministry, Soup Kitchen Ministry, Street Ministry, Jail Ministry, Mentor Ministry, Youth Ministry, Nursery Ministry, Deacon Ministry, Cleaning Ministry, Landscaping Ministry, Catering Ministry and a host of others.



On November 11, 2005 Pastor T. L. Hood ordained five deacons and licensed six ministers under a growing church.
