On Sunday, March 13, 1993 New Life Fellowship Center Church of God was birthed in the heart of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with Bishop Clinton G. Ruddock as founding pastor along with Lady Ann-Marie Ruddock, his wife. The first worship service was held at 4000 N. State Road 7, Lauderdale Lakes. Due to unforeseen circumstances the church was unable to continue operating out of the Concord building, after one worship service.

Fortunately, the Mignott’s family (chartered members) of New Life Fellowship Center immediately opened their home to us for services. After several weeks in their home the late Dr. Lennox Powell, then pastor of the Greater Fort Lauderdale New Testament Church of God, assisted us in securing a worship site at 6435 W. Commercial Boulevard. We were blessed to be at Commercial Blvd. for 2 years, where we grew spiritually and numerically. Along with the success stories during this early stage of ministry we also had our share of challenges.

Probably the greatest challenge we faced during those years at Commercial Blvd. was to arrive one Wednesday night for Prayer Meeting and Bible Studies and to our surprise to find the locks on the doors changed, leaving us with no place to worship.

God was on our side however and in 3 days we were able to sign an agreement with the Holiday Inn (now Ramada Inn) located at 5100 N. State Road 7 for use of their premises. We stayed at this location for several months and the growth continued until in November 1995 when, due to hotel scheduling conflicts, we had to leave.

God miraculously provided 4860 N. State Road 7 (Headway Office Park-Building D) for us and we stayed at this location for 3 years. We outgrew Headway Office Park and again God came through for us and in the summer of 1998 we moved to 3280 N. State Road 7.

This is our present, but our future is in 5.4 acres of land acquired in June 2002, which will house our sanctuary and a multipurpose complex in the very near future. With God’s help we are hoping to break ground for our new edifice sometime in 2008.
