New Muses Theatre Company

New Muses Theatre Company was founded in 2009 by current managing artistic director Niclas Olson. Over the next seven seasons, and counting, the company has produced works ranging from classics like THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, HAMLET, and DOCTOR FAUSTUS to contemporary plays by Neil Labute, Wallace Shawn, and Michael Frayn. In that time over 50 individual artists have had the opportunity to work as company members, many on multiple productions. New Muses productions have been nominated for nine Broadwayworld Seattle Awards and covered in newspapers from Olympia to Seattle.

As a commercial fringe production company, New Muses produces works with an emphasis on creativity and passion. Our productions thrive on relationships with multi-disciplinary artists, regularly employing actors, directors, and designers functioning in multiple roles within any given production. Our signature reinterpretations of classic works are balanced by productions of contemporary plays along with the challenging works featured in the One-Night-Only staged reading series.
